Sonam Kapoor, who will be seen in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag next year, will also commence shoot for the remake of Khoobsurat. The iconic film of Rekha that released in the 80s will be remade by Anil Kapoor and directed by Shashanka Ghosh.
Sources close to the actress confirm the development saying, "Sonam is very excited to start working on this project as it was one of the finest works of Rekha. It was a blockbuster of 1980 that had won best film award too."

But before she starts shooting, Sonam wants to meet Rekha personally. It is very challenging for Sonam to take up the role played by Rekha who is such a brilliant actor. Adds the source, "She wants to understand the character well and take Rekha's advice on how to go about it." In fact Sonam will be spending a lot of time preparing for the role before she starts the shoot; after all it's not easy for anyone to fit into Rekha's shoes.
The original film, that was directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee, starred Rekha, Ashok Kumar, Dina Pathak and Rakesh Roshan.
